Throughout the winter of 2015/16, NiS+TS members did research walks in areas close to the Halifax harbour. The GPS track shows the route of a walk we did on April 10, 2016 through the empty parking lots between the casino and the Irving Shipyard. The area near the footing for the MacDonald Bridge is where the main Halifax Railway Station stood at the time of the Explosion. An archival photo of the Halifax Railway Station taken shortly after the Explosion shows the destruction of the building, in which 60 people were killed by a falling roof.
