On Friday, August 26, three NiS+TS members (Robert Bean, Barbara Lounder, Mary Elizabeth Luka) co-hosted a collaborative workshop at the annual conference of the European Network of Living Labs, held at Concordia University. NiS+TS’ co-hosts were three members (David Madden, Constance Lafontaine, Kim Sawchuk) of the ACT Project (ageing + communication + technology) project.
Like NiS+TS, the ACT Project is interested in research-creation, co-creative opportunities with community members, intergenerational work and the way in which communication and creative technologies shape us as well as how we shape their uses.
More than 20 participants from around the world joined NiS+TS in exploring how to facilitate inclusion, acknowledge and encourage diversity, and engage citizens in creative work with social goals and objectives. NiS+TS was fortunate to conduct the workshop surrounded by the creative work produced by previous ACT Project initiatives, installed in the “black box” room at Concordia’s EV building.
