From October 11 to December 17, 2017, art and media projects by NiS+TS formed the core of a major exhibition at the Dalhousie Art Gallery marking the centenary of the 1917 explosion in Halifax harbour. The exhibition was accompanied by a number of panel discussions, presentations, workshops, walking events, and the launch of the NiS+TS software app, Drifts.
Narratives in Space + Time Society was a featured part of this show, exhibiting under the title “Walking the Debris Field: Public Geographies of the Halifax Explosion.” This exhibition compiled images, videos and found objects from the various dérives/public walks of the Walking the Debris Field project, as well as collaborations with groups NiS+TS has worked with including The Blackbook Collective, Free Lab participants from GEM Dalhousie Faculty of Computer Science, Dalhousie Faculty of Architecture, NSCAD University, and others.
